I made this oval green onyx necklace by hand in my Liverpool workshop using recycled silver. The smooth silver setting frames the stone, with an open back that lets light pass through. In sunlight, the deep green becomes brighter and more translucent; in softer light, it looks darker.
On the reverse, I have engraved my Hidden Honour Mark. Inspired by my Sandilands family heritage, its three strokes represent truth, strength and hope for better things. It sits against your skin when worn, keeping that reminder personal.
