Large Blue Labradorite Silver Necklace — Hidden Honour Mark

£225.00
Limit 1 per order

A broad oval labradorite with a vivid blue flash, framed by darkened silver and beaded detail.

I made this statement necklace by hand in my Liverpool workshop using recycled silver. The labradorite sits horizontally, with curved silver details at either end and a beaded border around the setting. I have added a patina to darken parts of the silver, bringing out the detail against the brighter edges.

The stone changes as the light catches it. From some angles it looks dark grey; turn it towards the light and a strong blue flash appears, with dark markings visible across its surface. At approximately 5 cm across the widest part of the pendant, this is a substantial piece with plenty of presence.

The open back reveals the reverse of the stone. Beside it is my engraved Hidden Honour Mark, inspired by my Sandilands family heritage and representing truth, strength and hope for better things.

Part of my Hidden Honour Mark collection, this necklace brings together the darkened silver and old-world relic character at the centre of my work.

The photographs show the necklace in sunlight. The blue flash depends on the light and viewing angle and will not appear equally bright at all times.

Care

Clean gently with a soft cloth. Avoid silver dips, abrasive cleaners and vigorous polishing of the darkened areas, as these can remove the patina.
